Since injuring my shoulder a few years ago, I gave up yarning altogether. I actually donated all my crochet hooks, most of my knitting needles, all of my yarn and notions thinking I would never crochet or knit again. I transitioned to paper crafting and I love it but my heart was still yearning for yarn. It was my passion and I loved all the things that I made.
One day, I just decided to try to do a little crocheting. I purchased a hand brace, my hubby bought me some of those cushions (not sure what they’re called) that fit over crochet hooks and then my local Dollar Tree has a whole yarn section now for $1.25 a skein. I couldn’t help myself so I bought a few skeins and tried out the new cushion over my hooks and I’m in love all over again. I was able to crochet without pain for the first time! 😀 YAY!
I also love collecting stuffed animals and have been for years, I have bears, monkeys, pups, giraffe, bunnies, cats, owls and I even have an Elmo plushie. Some of my plushies are very large like my giraffe, one of my polar bears and gray puppy dog. My monkeys are small as well as my kitty that sits on my craft table. I love them all! So, when I started crocheting again, I thought about making a scarf for my smaller polar bear. The yarn was easy to use and surprisingly soft. I went slow and it took me several weeks, but I managed to finish it and it’s so cute.

My favorite crochet stitch is the half double crochet and I crocheted it in the 3rd loop. I love knitting too and I wanted my scarf to mimic the knit stitch. This was a very easy pattern just crocheting each row this way. I added pom poms to each end with my pom pom maker purchased from AZ. I’ll have a link to it below.
Then, I sewed a button closure from my collection. I’m rebuilding my buttons (kinda wish I had kept my previous one)! Snowball is my plushie’s name, isn’t he cute wearing his scarf?
I was pleasantly pleased with using this yarn for this project, however that said I would still recommend and purchase higher priced yarns for more intricate and complex patterns. So, my next plushie that I’m crocheting a scarf for is my large gray puppy and I’m making him a infinity scarf! It will take a little longer to finish, cause he’s a big boy! I’ll share that project as soon as I complete it!
