Knitting Project I'm Working On

Knitting Project I’m Working On

Hi friends! Today, I’m sharing a test project that I’ve been sadly working off and on for a long time. I won’t tell you how long. I purchased this yarn from Knit Picks called Crest Preciosa Tonal (worsted weight) in 2016. That’s how long I’ve had this project going, but to my defense, I was injured and after healing, just didn’t know if I could knit again. But, I couldn’t give this project away. I still want to try knitting with it, because it’s so pretty.

Unfortunately, Knit Picks discontinued this yarn line. Bummer 🙁 , I did include a link to their yarns at the bottom of this post.

Anyway, I love the mix of blue teal colors throughout this yarn, it’s more like an ombre feel, not like going from one color to another instantly. This yarn gradually changes shades, you hardly notice it while you’re working with it. It’s made from 100% Merino Wool.

6.0mm bamboo knitting needles

Since my injury, I only have 1 pair of straight knitting needles which are my favorite bamboo 6.0mm size that I bought from my local thrift store. In fact, that’s where I got a lot of knitting needles when I was transitioning from loom knitting. I found a link on AZ to these needles and included it below.

I’m just doing the knit stitch and you can see from the picture below that I have a long way to go so at the end! But, I’ll end up with a cute scarf for the next winter! Hopefully, I can get it done before then!

This yarn is pretty soft, it’s a medium weight yarn, not a chunky one like what I’m used to using, however, it’s not hard to knit either. It makes a lovely fabric to the touch. I cast on 44 stitches and just knitting the knit stitch means it’s just a real easy pattern, nothing complex. Plus, since I was new to this yarn, I didn’t want to do any complicated patterns. I get somewhat nervous when I’m knitting 😀

So, why did I go back to knitting now after so many years past my injury? Well… I’m crocheting again because I have 2 new tools in my craft space that is really helping me so I’m not feeling pain. I thought maybe I can pick up knitting once again too. However, that said I’ll be more focused on crochet than knitting because I do think it takes a lot more on shoulder with the 2 needles than 1 hook.

So we’ll see how far I get, no pressure and no worries, I just want to enjoy the process! Thanks for Reading!
