Loom Knitting with my CinDwood

Loom Knitting with my CinDwood

I had been looking for a large round loom that Knifty Knitter used to make, the purple one most of loom knitters call it. However, it is extremely hard to find.

But, good thing I belong to a terrific loom knitting group on Facebook, and I began hearing a lot about CinDwood knitting looms and all the sizes available. Also, the pegs are closer together so the stitches come out nicer then the larger gauge looms that you have to either double strand your yarn or use bulky or super bulky yarns for tighter and neater stitches.

I decided to buy one and boy am I so thrilled with it. I love that it’s 3/8″ apart and it was easy to use. Plus, I love the look of it…very professional. I didn’t like the hook that came with it however, so no problem, I went back to my purple knifty knitter loom hook. Here’s my 1st project on this loom.

I knitted a three-tone color slouchy hat with a puffy pom pom on the end. Instead of a brim, I worked the garter stitch for six rounds and then just e-wrapped the main part of the hat. Then I purled the last three rounds and used a drawstring bind off to take the hat off the loom.

All I needed to do from there was weave in my ends, and use my cool Clover pom pom maker, sew it onto the hat and tada… my hat all done! It looks good on my model I think! I plan to make a hat and cowl set from one of my loom knitting pattern books.
