Hi my friends, I think it was about a couple of weeks ago that I made this pillow. I wasn’t sure I would share it because it’s not perfect!, and what I mean by that is I’m still learning how to use fabric glue to stuff pillows so one of my edges on this pillow isn’t the way I want. I can definitely use more training and practice.

However, I do like it a lot.
My pillow sits on our bed so I’m sharing it :D. I was shopping at my local Dollar Tree in the crafty aisle. They carry all kinds of fabrics in different patterns, I found this really cute fabric, it’s a light yellow color and it pairs nicely on top of my beige faux rabbit fur blanket. It comes in two pieces rolled up.
The fabric has a pretty floral print and unfolded, both pieces measured about 18-1/2″ x 21″ so first I used my Cricut Mini Hot Press to iron out the wrinkles. After that, I placed each fabric flat and on the opposite side, then folded each edge about 1″ using some small clothes pins to hold it in place.
Next, I added fabric glue, but only sealed three sides of the fabric because I planned to stuff it with poly-fil.
I was also trying out a new fabric glue, Aleene’s Quick Dry Fabric Fusion because I wanted a fast drying adhesive rather than using my hot glue gun. I love hot glue but I’ve had some pretty serious accidents in the past so I wanted to try not using it for this project; although at the end I had to use it. I’ll explain that shortly.
Putting it All Together
I let the three sides of the fabric completely dry before stuffing it. After it dried, I turned the fabric inside out to reveal the floral pattern and then stuffed it with the poly-fil generously making sure to get the corners. When I finished, I had that last opening to seal.
And this is where the trouble began…
I couldn’t hold the pillow down while adhering the glue very well so I had to use hot glue in addition to the fast drying fabric glue. And if you’ve worked with hot glue, you know it is very quick drying but it also glums up and so my edging wasn’t as smooth as the other three sides but it was adhered well and my pillow was done.

From the third picture above, you can see clearly the edge where I used the hot glue, I wish there was a way I could have sealed it from the opposite side but I guess unless I was going to hand sew it, it wouldn’t work. I’ll continue looking for answers cause I defnitely I want to try this project again.
In the end, I really like the quick drying fabric glue and I’m using it on my felt projects as well and it’s working. And, even with the final edging the way it is, I still love this pillow and proud of it! I think it’s important to share our projects even if we run into problems or it doesn’t turn out the way we want because crafting is also all about learning and getting better.
